South Fly District is a district of the Western Province of Papua New Guinea. Its capital is Daru. The area of the district is 31,864 km², with a population of 46,407 at the 2000 census.

The district is administratively subdivided into four Local Level Government Areas:

* 1) Daru Urban

* 2) Kiwai Rural

* 3) Morehead Rural

* 4) Oriomo-Bituri Rural

Papua New Guinea (abbreviated PNG;, also ), officially the Independent State of Papua New Guinea (Independen Stet bilong Papua Niugini; Independen Stet bilong Papua Niu Gini), is a country in Oceania that comprises the eastern half of the island of New Guinea and its offshore islands in Melanesia (a region of the southwestern Pacific Ocean north of Australia). It became an independent Commonwealth realm in 1975 with Elizabeth II as its queen. It also became a member of the Commonwealth of Nations in its own right.
